Hasn’t Moffat specifically said that First Night/Last Night takes place after TWORS, though?
Yeah, I remember now Moff saying that. But, that doesn’t make sense with the mention that Amy and Rory are on board the TARDIS for “First Night.” That means it would had taken place after “The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe” then, but that just sounds really odd. I just re-read that part of the magazine, and it doesn’t make any reference to a specific time other than AGMGTW and River receiving the diary in LKH. It does specifically place “Bad Night” and “Good Night” as taking place before series 6. But, yes, it does make more sense to place this after TWORS. I’ll adjust the timeline.
According to the magazine, Matt and Alex filmed this entire scene on April 30, 2011, along with material for “The Crash of the Elysium.”

I totally get why it’s been getting shitty reviews over here. It’s so patchy and inconsistent.
I’ve actually been pretty OK with the series. Up until tonight, I liked series 2 better than series 1. It’s by far not the worst TV I’ve ever seen. But dropping your two lead actresses in the penultimate episode in favor of the Hallam/Persie clusterfuck is just a boneheaded move.
