New Namesake page!
And then when she comes back, after all the stuff he read, they can have deep conversations about electricity.

Hiveworks table GO! Megan and Cory. Not pictured—Isa, who is…somewhere? And me, who is taking the picture. :D

aknightlight replied to your post: Namesake: Original prologue
Oh wow this is so cool! But its so weird seeing it as prose
I know! Looking back now, it’s really weird to me as well. I wanted to write in script, but I originally wrote that by hand when I was at work. I was working at a bank then at night in the fraud department.
Chapter 1 was originally written in prose form partially, but I began expanding my horizons. I actually just came across yet another take on the first part of chapter 1 scribbled into a notebook. The prologue came easily, but we went through a lot of different versions of chapter 1 before setting on what’s on the site.
Now, I write in what’s known as Marvel-style script. It’s more prose-like and lets the artist dictate the panels. It’s how I prefer to write with Isa. Here’s an example from chapter 7:
——-
Many years ago, at the home of the Witch of the West, Warrick and Selva are sitting at a table filled with books, toys and other odds and ends. Selva is playing with a doll while Warrick tinkers with some of the bits on the table, flipping through a book. In the background, two women are watching the children play.

Thank you for taking the time assist me with this important matter.
OZMA
You and your parents are among Oz’s dearest friends, and mine as well. It is an honor to assist you however I can.
Warrick absently grabs a doll that Selva isn’t playing with and begins to disassemble it. Selva shrieks and tries to grab it back, and they begin squabbling.
OZMA
I’ve been observing them through the Magic Picture since I got your letter. I concur with your observations, especially regarding young Warrick. Might I speak with him privately?
ADORA
Of course.
By request, this is the first draft of the prologue of Namesake. It existed as prose to begin with. I didn’t move to a hybrid prose/script draft until chapter 1.
Date written: April 7, 2010
No, that’s not a problem! I don’t mind the questions at all.
A good bit of our cast is racially diverse, including the leads. They’re of Latina and French heritage. Their mother is from Puerto Rico. Their father was born in France and raised in Montreal. When the girls were young, they moved to Toronto.
Other members of the cast are as followed:
Ben was born and raised just outside Toronto
Modern Alice is from Liverpool. She’s our Scouser!
Jack is from Pennsylvania, but his family is Irish.
Wendy is from London. She’s half-British/half-American
Lemuel, referred to in script but not met yet, is from Australia
Nandita, also referred to in script but not met yet, is from India
Karen from chapter 1 is Swedish
Vanessa is from Germany
Fish is from Iceland
And we have a number of other cast members who are from various places around the world.
Namesake is a webcomic that secondlina and I started in 2010. It comes out every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and has one book in print and a second on the way.
It’s the story of Emma Crewe, a woman who is stolen in the aftermath of a library fire and is dumped in a land made famous by literature and cinema. She learns she’s a Namesake, uniquely connected to this world by the power of her given name, and now she must act as the story’s protagonist as she figures out how to make her way home. But as Emma travels, she discovers that those controlling her story have their own selfish goals in mind – and her fate is the key to everyone’s happy ending.
There’s a lot of really great characters, trips to literary worlds and a small, growing fandom that is pretty fantastic.

ospreysoul said: This pile just needs one Emma, sitting pretty on the top.
Done.
Look at that wanton mistress.
I just spit out my water stop
Emma cannot get enough of that green booty.
Emma: “My magic sword brings all the warlocks to the road, and he’s like ‘it’s better than mine.’ Damn right, it’s better than yours. I could teach you, but I’d have to charge.”
I’m not surprised this was asked, so expect me to have a bit of fun. ;)
5 favorite characters: Emma, Elaine, Fred, Alice Liddell, the Scarecrow - these are all my favorite characters to write, but I can easily go longer. I love writing everyone in different ways.
3 OTPs: Ben/Awkward Sayings, Alice/Cats, Hercilia/Complaining
Funniest character: Hercilia. Gets the best lines.
Prettiest character: All of them are beautiful
Most badass character: They’re all badass their own way.
Character I’d like as my BFF: Wendy. We’d have tea all the time.
Character that’s ruined my life: None of them. They’ve only enhanced my life. ^_^

dammit vermouth this was just unfair
*incoherent noises and grabbyhands*
Yes. Yes, this is Jack. BRB, drooling.
I just want shirtless Jack on my blog.

Smut request 03 - Fred and Elaine
Soemone asked for Fred and Elaine from Namesake and honesty, I wasn’t able to do it because in my mind these kids are still babies. My babiiiiies. So, instead have a drawing of Fred invading Elaine’s personal space. Elaine is super duper shy.
Check the tag for more of the requests, or add one.
I’ve finally read Namesake, and it’s so awesome that I made icons of the Chopper twins. Thanks, Emily!
The Chopper twins, Selva and Warrick, are from the web comic Namesake. You can read it here: http://namesakecomic.com/ and one of the creators has a Tumblr called secondlina where they post updates/extras/etc.
Heee, this is so cool! These are perfect Tumblr icons.
